BT Group Workers to Strike

On Friday 29th July, and 1st of August 2022 over 40,000 BT Group workers are due to walkout in a row over pay and how this isn’t following the UK’s rate of inflation, their union has announced.

It is reported by The Communications Workers Union that 95.8% of Openreach and BT Group workers voted for action and 91.5% majority for the walkout.

Openreach manage and maintain a huge majority of the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure from telephone lines, broadband to critical alarm and monitoring systems. This will likely cause a delay to installations, faults, and engineering appointments. We also believe that this will have a knock on effect for at least 3-5 days following the walk out’s, whilst engineers, planning teams and call centre staff work through their cases.

If you have any installations happening on either of these days, Selective Networks will be in touch to advise of the strike action and how this may affect you.
